Nathan Hatton If we can't get another Eluvium release proper--which is no complaint considering we just got one in 2016--then let it be in another form.
The title, 'Miniatures,' gives the impression that the offering is not as grand as others, but still just as meaningful. I feel this collection of music could be considered single, brushstroke layers of what could have made up an entire Eluvium record, but have been broken down into sections for individual appreciation.
I felt the listening experience a very intimate look into Cooper's process and how the end results are formulated. There is a wide variety here from simple ambience to lovely piano. Instead of the lush, rich textures and layers we get to observe more minute points more closely.
It's a lovely collection of music and worth every penny.
